The Wärtsilä RT-flex35 is a low-speed twostroke marine diesel engine which is highly suited to the direct-drive propulsion of a wide range of small and medium-sized cargo vessels such a break-bulk cargo ships, bulk carriers, tankers and container feeder vessels. The crosshead-type engine with uniflow scavenging is designed from the outset with an electronically-controlled common-rail system for fuel injection and valve actuation.Of 350 mm cylinder bore by 1550 mm piston stroke, it is built with five to eight cylinders in-line, providing maximum continuous power outputs between 3475 and 6960 kW at 142 to 167 rpm
